MALTMUN Conference 2025 – A great time in the middle of the Mediterranean

After the HDMUN Conference in Heidelberg, and a great pitch from the MALTMUN Team, plans were quickly made to go to Malta in late August and to attend MALTMUN 2025.

After everybody booked their flights and the AirBnB in Valletta, everything was set and ready to go. With a total of five delegates from Zeppelin MUN Society, Johanna, Arushi, Leon, Simon and Reemt, representing their countries in the UNHCR, DISEC and CoEU, it was another great experience at an MUN.

Arushi as the delegate of Sudan and Johanna as Iran were debating in the UNHCR about the current situation of refugees in the red Sea. While Simon as Brazil was debating the safety in the Mediterranean Sea, facing challenges like Migration or piracy. Leon as Sweden and Reemt as Italy were debating in the European Council about the creation of more maritime security measures, to improve safety in the European coastal and territorial waters. In the End Simon got a verbal shootout for his great performance in the DISEC Council.

The conference was suited in truly great venues both for the socials but also for the committee sessions, debating the Parliament of Malta, then in the evening a beach party. The other day, the gala was taking place in palace like townhouse in the middle of Valletta´s historical sight. That accompanied with sunny weather around 30 Degrees. A pretty international crowd as always at MUNs, both university students and high school one´s.

To whrap it up, MALTMUN 2025 was a truly great experience, we are already considering to be back in 2026!
